Does the fee cover both of us?

Yes, the fee covers the full course for mother and father (or birthing partner)

What else does the fee cover?

Included with the course is the HypnoBirthing book, the course CD, and a folder of practical handouts, and any telephone support you need.

I can't do both days together.

If you can't manage both days of a course, just select the first day from one course and the second day from another, and let us know what suits you best.

What is the Best Time to do the course?

The answer is that, in principle, it's more important to do the course early so you have plenty of time to absorb the information and for it to become second nature rather than to have it fresh in your mind. The HypnoBirthing Institute suggests that you do it in the second trimester of pregnancy but, in practice, most mothers seem to do it at about 30 weeks. Having said that, I have successfully taught it to a mother who gave birth two days later, so the real answer is that 'HypnoBirthing works, but you always run the risk if you leave it too late that the baby will arrive first, and then you'll wish you had done it sooner.

Should I bring or wear anything in particular?

There is nothing in particular that you need to bring or wear to your class - just wear comfortable clothes so you can relax.   We will give you all the required course materials on the day so please just turn up and enjoy your class.

How does HypnoBirthing work?

HypnoBirthing is a completely logical and extremely effective tried-and-tested method that lets you discover the joy and magic of birth, and is much more than just self-hypnosis or hypnotherapy. The method was developed by Marie Mongan, based on the work of the British obstetrician Grantly Dick-Read; the pioneer of modern natural childbirth.

It is deeply relaxing and effective, and allows your mind and your body to work in harmony, the way nature intended. HypnoBirthing is a complete ante-natal course.

Real HypnoBirthing Stories

My baby arrived 11 days early.  We had been out to dinner and a movie, and I was just going to sleep.  The contractions started at 11 p.m. and my waters broke immediately.  I rang the hospital, and they said:  “We expect to see you in 24 hours,”  but right from the beginning my contractions were at 5 minute intervals and 1 minute duration, so I rang them again, and went in immediately.  My baby was born after a 5hr 50 min labour, weighing 8lns5ozs.  I had a very light epidural when he moved into the wrong position in order to turn him but, apart from that, the techniques you taught definitely worked and I needed no other drugs.
