My baby arrived 11 days early. We had been out to dinner and a movie, and I was just going to sleep. The contractions started at 11 p.m. and my waters broke immediately. I rang the hospital, and they said: “We expect to see you in 24 hours,” but right from the beginning my contractions were at 5 minute intervals and 1 minute duration, so I rang them again, and went in immediately. My baby was born after a 5hr 50 min labour, weighing 8lns5ozs. I had a very light epidural when he moved into the wrong position in order to turn him but, apart from that, the techniques you taught definitely worked and I needed no other drugs. Imogen

My baby was born a week early at home on 14th May at 6.01a.m. in 2hrs45mins (first baby) weighing 8lbs5ozs. It was supposed to be a water birth, but we only had time to get about 4ins of water in the pool.
My waters broke, and I woke up with strong surges and that was how it stayed throughout. When I phoned the midwife she said things like, ‘Have a bath and try to take some rest’, and she actually arrived 10 mins before George was born.
It was lovely. There was no pain. It was incredible. It was just so positive – the whole experience.
George is very contented.
