To start with there will be three products: a gorgeous stretch mark cream to help keep the skin smooth and flexible a nipple cream to keep you comfortable when you start to breast feed a baby's bottom cream - pretty obvious what you use that for We've produced too a very high quality calogen capsule for use when you've finished breast feeding to help your abdomen regain its normal tone and suppleness. I'll tell you more about them when they're ready in March

What to do if the course is full

February 19, 2010 – 1:02 pm
There's a new Hypnobirthing course starting this weekend - and it's full.  You may wonder why I bothered to tell you since you can't book on it but I wanted you to know that, if ever you can't get onto the class of your choice, please contact me and I will put you on a waiting list.  If it's VERY urgent we would always try to squeeze you in. Remember too that there are other classes at other centres that are quite close to you, so have a look at the website and you might find something that suits you perfectly well instead. Whatever happens, make sure you do it somewhere - for your baby's sake.

A Wiltshire Hypnobirthing course in March

February 13, 2010 – 12:12 pm
Just to let everyone know that we've announced an extra hypnobirthing course in March, to be held at katharine's home in Fosbury.  The village is midway between Andover and marlborough (more details on the main site), and the course will be over 4 evenings (Monday and Tuesday on successive weeks). These course are more intimate than the London ones, with katharine's house being quite small, so we only have a few couples at each one.  Please feel free to contact Katharine through the site for details.

Update on Mother and Baby Products

February 8, 2010 – 10:32 am
The new range of 'Katharine' mother and baby skincare products is being produced as I write this, and I'm very excited.  All the ingredients are entirely natural, and we're starting with a small range of the things you need most.  There is a stretch mark cream to use as your stomach grows, a nipple creamto keep you comfortable when you start breast feeding, and a baby's bottom cream to keep your little one comfortable too.  They're really lovely, and I'm sure you'll like them. Have a look at the website www.katharinebotanicals.com to find out all about them.

Today’s Hypnobirthing Class at the Southbank

February 7, 2010 – 6:38 am
It's 6.40am and the car is all packed.  I'm off to teach a Hypnobirthing class on the Southbank.  I'm really looking forward to it, but Hypnobirthing is very special, but I have to admit that I'm not at my most enthusiastic when my alarm goes off at 5.30am.  I've just bought a new car, a small Fiat Panda, because my old car, also a Fiat Panda, was becoming unreliable and I have to have transport that I can trust completely to get me to a class on time. Sometimes I'm asked to doula at a birth.  It is a huge privilege to attend a birth - like being present at a miracle - but I can only doula on the basis that, if I'm teaching a Hypnobirthing class, I won't be able to be there. 2am is fine, but I can't leave half way through a class. It really does feel as ...

Hypnobirthing on a Building Site?

January 25, 2010 – 7:30 pm
The venue for the Teddington Hypnobirthing classes is right beside the Thames and really lovely, but on Saturday at about 8pm (the class was due to start the next morning) I received an email saying the builders hadn't finished the work they were doing so there would be no smell of paint but most of the building had been prepared for painting on Monday. When I got there - half an hour early to forestall any problems - it looked as if I was walking onto a building site and my heart sank; hardly the calm and peaceful environment I liked to create for my Hypnobirthing classes. After much moving of heavy furniture and equipment, I had the room we were going to use (not the one we normally use with the lovely view of the river) in tolerable shape and at the beginning of the class I said: 'We have a choice.  ...

Hypnobirthing Babies

January 20, 2010 – 6:15 pm
Well, they aren't really babies any more.   Today I have visited two babies whose parents I taught Hypnobirthing a couple of years ago.  One was a very delightful little 17 month old girl called Zoe.  She's just woken up from her nap, so she was a little suspicious of me, but I had a lovely chat and cup of tea with her mother. The other was my grandson who is now just over two.  An absolute ball of energy, and we had a great time jumping until suddenly the game changed to 'all fall down'.  Bags and bags of energy.
