Hypnobirthing in Teddington
April 11, 2010 – 8:28 amI’ve been playing truant this weekend. Usually Hypnobirthing takes up almost all of my time. modifying scripts and making sure the course is as good as it possibly can be.
But it was my birthday on Friday so I went to Longleat with my 5-year-old grandon, Sam, and my daughter-in-law Anna. It was a warm, sunny day and, because it was a weekday, there weren’t too many people. The lions were slightly disappointing because they were just lying on their backs enjoying the sun on their tummies, but the giraffes were more active and very impressive. The house is absolutely beautiful, but you can’t really linger to look at things when you have a five-year-old with you. In fact, he was remarkably tolerant of the whole thing.
As far as Sam was concerned the most amazing part of the day was the children’s play area. There was the most amazing fort with slides and high level walkways and ropes to climb. Not to mention the miniature railway, and the boat ride on the lake, and the roundabout.
If we ever go there again we won’t be allowed to do anything at all but the children’s pay area.
And the Hypnbirthing class in Teddington at the end of the month is filling up fast. It’s in a great venue, right beside the river and, if it’s as sunny as it has been this weekend, we’ll be able to go outside in the breaks.
I usually sit with my back to the river so that everyone else can face the river. I always fondly imagine that they’re dwelling on my every word, but actually they’re just watching the boats go past. I don’t mind because it’s lovely relaxing imagery which is perfect for going gently with the flow when you give birth to your baby.
