Positive Hypnobirthing Experience
November 23, 2009 – 11:54 amHi Katherine
We wanted to let you all know that on Sunday 15th November at 12.47pm a beautiful little girl arrived into our family (picture attached). We have named her Layla Florence and we had the birth at home in Hampstead. This was our second child and we had an incredibly positive experience this time around – possibly a textbook hypnobirthing experience, relaxed, calm, with no drugs etc, only focused breathing, massages and visualisations to carry us through the surges and the birth. When we started the workshop, we were contemplating a C-section based on medical advice, but the course gave us the confidence to challenge that advice and also the courage to follow our instinct – which was that a birth in our home environment would be the safest and easiest for both mother and baby. And it was!
She is a very calm and contented baby. The midwives said, from her heartbeat, that she seemed completely calm all the way through the birth. And because the waters broke right at the end, she had a relatively gentle time through the labour. And of course I worked on remaining focused and calm throughout. I’m sure all of that will have helped.
Thank you again - the course really made all of the difference in the end, much more than we had expected when we signed up.
